OCD: A True Obsession
It’s currently a trend to call any normal interest an “obsession.” Yes, you may have seen every episode of Friends a dozen times and have posters on your wall, but that doesn’t mean it’s a true obsession.
There are approximately 2 to 3 million adults and 500,000 children and teens that must go through their daily lives crippled by a disorder of the brain and behavior known as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, or OCD, which causes severe anxiety in those affected. Far beyond your love of a TV show, OCD involves both obsessions and compulsions that intrude on daily life.
