Hey there! My name is Alex Goreham. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LSCW), Certified Reciprocal Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CRADC), and I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I graduated with my Bachelor’s from Moody Bible Institute in Biblical Studies and Counseling and graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with my Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in Children and Families.

Life can be super exciting sometimes and at other times not so much. I don’t believe God created us to walk this life alone, especially through difficult moments. I don’t have the power to change you, but my goal in therapy is to help you understand yourself better, which enables you to get to a happier and healthier place in life.

Since 2010, I have worked in the inner city of Chicago and throughout the south and west suburbs of Chicago with individuals who come from all sorts of backgrounds and life styles. I specialize in addictions, trauma, adoption, attachment, depression, anxiety, and faith/spirituality. EMDR is a therapy technique with significant research that shows its effectiveness to treat multiple mental health concerns, especially trauma. I am also trained in Trauma Focus – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). This is a therapy that is really helpful for children and adolescents who have experienced traumatic events. TF-CBT incorporates family support and involvement in the healing process. I look forward to being able to partner with you as you set out to work on a brighter future.
