Hi, my name is Bret Bertrand. I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University and previously earned my B.A. from Illinois State University. My goal as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor is to welcome, encourage, and motivate people to move forward in life.
For the past 20 years, I have counseled couples -premarital and married- through the challenging dynamics yet rewarding benefits of marriage. I enjoy seeing couples grow individually and together with a combination of counseling and God’s help.
Guiding and counseling missionaries’ transitions of moving overseas and returning home is a passion of mine. It has been exciting to see the steps taken that have launched these unique career choices.
I also have experience counseling the incarcerated who face addictions, shame, trauma, grief, and family conflict. Additionally, I counsel family members who have loved ones incarcerated. The consequences of separation can be devastating. I have the privilege of speaking the truth of God’s love and sufficient grace to help them gain hope for the future.
While we cannot change the difficult experiences from the past, we can strive together to understand and overcome any negative impact you may be currently having in your life. I believe together we can develop a path toward healing, health, and freedom in order to keep moving forward.
