Heather Hawthorne, MA Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

stenzel-staff-heatherMy passion is to work with couples and families to help bring hope and change as you navigate life’s challenges. Choosing to come to therapy is a brave decision, and it is my goal to walk closely alongside you as we face these difficulties together. You can expect that I will meet you in whatever place you are with sensitivity and empathy. Building a trusting relationship in order to create a safe and positive environment is one of my top priorities in order to make this a helpful experience for you.

I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Wheaton College. In my training, I have worked with a wide variety of individuals, families and couples. I have training in play therapy and have worked with children and families around issues of anxiety, self-harm, gender identity, complex trauma, and conflict within the family. I also enjoy walking alongside people working through life transitions and grief/loss issues. Before joining Stenzel Clinical Services, I worked in the foster care system with at-risk children and their families.

I consider it a great privilege to hold hope for people as we walk together through difficult situations and move towards greater healing and wholeness. I look forward to starting this process with you!
