Hello! My name is Joshua (though you can call me Josh) and I’m passionate about walking alongside folks as they navigate both seasonal and day-to-day challenges. My approach to counseling is eclectic, allowing you as the client to set goals, though I tend to work from the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Person-Centered Therapy models. My counseling is trauma-informed, values-driven, and holistic, as I strive to approach every client not as a “problem to be fixed”, but rather a person worth getting to know better.
I hold an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College and a BA in Psychology from Texas A&M University. My graduate training also included working in inpatient and outpatient settings for substance use disorders and process addictions. I am familiar with the ins-and-outs of the complicated process of pursuing sobriety (to any degree) and would love to get to empower you week-to-week as a member of your support team.
I look forward to and would be deeply honored to get to know more about you as we begin the process toward discovering resilience and restoring hope.
