Over the years, self-injury has become increasingly prevalent as a way to deal with a variety of issues present in life. It can include any of the following: burning, scratching, cutting, picking, head banging, etc… This group was developed with the goal of eliminating self-harming behaviors and teaching healthy ways of dealing with difficult emotions and situations.
6 week group offering:
- Resources to assist those struggling with self harm
- Exploration of reasons behind self- harming behavior
- Alternatives to self harming behavior: how to manage pain withoutinflicting pain on yourself
- Effective coping strategies
This group will be led by Aly Webster, our Master’s Intern from DePaul University.
