Grief Counseling and Therapy

Grief Therapy Near NeGrief is something everyone experiences at some point. It’s often due to the death of a loved one, but there are many experiences that can cause grief. Some of the other most common examples:

  • Divorce
  • Severe illness and other changes in health
  • Job loss
  • Difficult transitions
  • Aging
  • Experiencing a traumatic event

Processing grief doesn’t come with universal steps. People respond differently. As one example, the effect a death has on us depends on our relationship with the deceased, the manner of death/other factors that vary and will contribute to the way we process our feelings.

You should never be alone in your pain.

Depending on the cause of your grief, individual therapy, group therapy or a combination of the two can be beneficial in navigating through it.

It can be difficult to reach out to loved ones in times of grief, especially if you feel the need to stay strong for those around you. In this case, it can be beneficial to express the emotions, thoughts and experiences that come with grief to an objective third party and is a lot to navigate alone, but you don’t have to be alone. If you or a loved one needs help during a difficult time, remember that we have licensed counselors who are here to work through it with you.
