I became a counselor in 2004 and have since worked as a therapist and social worker serving children, teens, and families in the community and school setting. I have a Bachelors degree in Family Studies from Central Michigan University and a Masters in Counseling/Marriage and Family therapy from Western Michigan University.

I bring to the counseling session a warm and open space to discuss the areas of your life where you are feeling “stuck”. I aim to tailor sessions to the unique needs and interest of the client.

I am particularly passionate about anxiety disorders and family of origin issues. You may find that you carry childhood hurt and trauma into adulthood and you may need to explore these dynamics to move forward.

In my work, I often use Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (an eye movement therapy that has evolved from EMDR) which has been used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and phobias with success after just a few sessions.
