My name is Liz Chan and I am Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I received my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health with a graduate certificate in Trauma-Informed Counseling from Northern Illinois University. My education also included interning with a domestic violence agency as a sexual assault and crisis counselor. I have experience working with individuals, and families from a variety of backgrounds on issues such as self-esteem, relationships and gender specific issues.

I work from a strengths-based approach to counseling and, because every person is different, I utilize a variety of counseling interventions in my work. Interventions I often work from include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family systems therapy, and interventions which emphasize the mind-body connection, such as mindfulness and art therapy.

My goal in each session is to create a safe and supportive space for you to process through your challenges and move towards hope and healing. I believe that every person has the capacity for positive change and I am dedicated to helping you create the change you want for your life.
