Hello, my name is Naomi Polk! It is a pleasure to meet you and a privilege to serve as your counselor at Stenzel Clinical Services. I’d like to extend a warm welcome to you and to commend you for your courage in beginning the counseling journey.
I hold an MA degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College and completed undergraduate studies in Psychology and Anthropology at Stockton University in New Jersey. Before pursuing a career in counseling, I worked and volunteered with refugees and immigrants in Georgia, primarily teaching English and connecting individuals and families to local community supports. During my counseling program in Illinois, I gained clinical experience working with a diverse range of groups and counseling concerns. I specialize in working with individuals from their early twenties onward who struggle with anxiety, OCD, spirituality, self-esteem, relational struggles, and life transitions.
When we have experienced disappointment and pain in life, it can be easy to display a false self to the world in an effort to protect ourselves from further pain. My desire is to listen for your true self, to read between the lines in order to hear your heart and to honor what is on your heart. I seek to be a place of emotional safety for you and to provide empathy and encouragement as we walk together on your journey of healing. I look forward to hearing your story and working with you.
